The kids have taken to playing in the courtyard in the evenings. I previously mentioned the brother and sister playing down there alone. Well, guess whose kids have joined that pack?! We don't leave them unattended for long periods, but they take SO MUCH pride in riding the elevator down 5 flights without any adults, and making their way out the back door to the secure courtyard. Layla is learning how to buzz up for us when needed, and if that fails she simply hollers. She wants to be down there all night every night because she really enjoys playing with the two other kids, Tyler and Sarah. There are other kids who come and go in the courtyard, but Tyler and Sarah are out there every night. Tyler has pretty much become God-like in our house. Before dinner, after dinner (and especially during dinner), from both of them...."where's Tyler?", "I have to check for Tyler.", "Can I bring my food down to eat with Tyler?", "Can I go into Tyler's apartment?" Tyler is a very sweet boy. But I'm glad he's on holiday this week!
