Weekend Part 1

Saturday's fun had little to do with being in a foreign place and had much more to do with regular old quality time with family and friends.  The morning started off as Saturday mornings back home sometimes do; I went shopping while Chris took the kids out to play.  Layla chose to go back to St. Johann's Park, that we had first explored the day before.

In the afternoon we took a tram to the end of the line and then walked into St. Louis, France.  That sounds way more exciting than it turned out to be. No big flags or signs at the crossing, no one greeting us with an Ooo La La.

We approach the border.

France!
The reason for our journey to St. Louis was to visit with the McNamara family again.  And what a visit it turned out to be.  Layla, Josh, Danny, and Jack played and played and played.  And the grown ups ate, and ate, and ate!  The kids started off in the pool.  We started off with good ol' American chicken wings. The kids played for 5 hours together, with hardly a whine or a whimper.  Pool, swings, climbing, super heroes, instruments, our kids were in heaven.

Layla on drums, Josh on guitar, and Danny on the ever important frog percussion instrument.
The kids were adorable with the drums and guitar.
All afternoon Josh kept coming up to us with the drum sticks saying "Come on, let's rock it!"
Then the brass instruments came out.
Jack was a star on his trumpet, but Josh was learning quickly on the bugle.
All that practice spitting at us is finally paying off!

Danny helps Josh demonstrate his Spidy strength.

Even Spiderman needs to eat!
Double the Spidy, double the fun!
Layla and Danny plotting.  What, I'm not sure.

Jack instructs Josh on being a real super hero.

Sir Josh returns!
