Zebu Intestines....and more!

We started off our day with a trip to the zoo with Stirling and Fraser.  We found animals that we still hadn't seen on our first two visits, including this guy:

Personally, I'm with the Dutch on this one as far as the name goes.  Coypu means nothing to me, but a beaver rat is exactly what this thing is!

Layla and Stirling map out our next stop.
All four kids check out the gorillas.
Now Layla checks out Stirling.
This croc was just eating up the sun.

After our zoo outing we headed home to wait for our grocery delivery. It included a bunch of these cervelat sausages, which I bought because they were on sale.  They are pretty much short, fat hot dogs.  Encased in zebu intestine.  But don't worry, this national sausage of Switzerland is no longer made with brain.  The kids gobbled them up and I gotta say, they made a nice addition to my left over stuffed pepper! Check out the link above for more on the Swiss fascination with zebu intestine!

What does one do with the bags and cardboard that result from said grocery delivery?  Well, build a space ship and become astronauts, of course!

Not bad for scissors and a glue stick.
Josh wore his helmet for most of the evening.  Yes, even during dinner.
